Laguna Beach Four-Car Pileup Sends Three to Mission Hospital

In the morning hours of Thursday, June 9, 2011, Laguna Beach traffic was affected yet again by a morning car crash. A different Laguna Beach car accident occurred on Laguna Canyon Road less than two weeks before this accident, affecting rush hour traffic for hours.

This more recent accident made traffic entering and exiting the city extremely sluggish due to obstruction caused by the car crash and maintenance work.

Officials said that the car crash occurred on Pacific Coast Highway and involved a four-car pileup. Laguna Beach police said that the car crash happened near Emerald Bay around 8 a.m.

The two northbound lanes on PCH were closed for 90 minutes, as officials had to investigate the crash and clean the accident scene. Only one lane was open in both directions on Emerald Bay. The traffic returned to normal after 9:45 a.m., when all lanes were reopened.

The victims of this accident, whose names were not released, were transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. Three motorists were injured in the crash, but their injuries remain unknown.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash. No arrests have been made, and no updates on the victims’ medical conditions are known at this time.

The Law Office of John P. Burns would like to send our wishes for a full and speedy recovery to all the victims affected in this Orange County car crash.
