One Man Involved in Two O.C. Car Crashes Cited for DUI

On Thursday, January 13, 2011, one driver was involved in two different Orange County crashes. According to Santa Ana police, Justin David Young, 30, was involved in a hit-and-run accident around 11:30 a.m. in Fountain Valley.

Young was driving a 2007 black Acura sedan eastbound on Edinger Avenue near Brookhurst Street, when he hit another vehicle. Young kept driving, instead of stopping to speak with the driver of the other car. Police say that no one was hurt in this initial accident. Then, the driver of the Acura lost control of his vehicle, crashed into palm trees and rolled his car.

The second crash occurred in the 4300 block of Edinger Avenue. Followed by the car he hit in the first crash, Young lost control of the Acura, crashed into palm trees, and rolled his car. One of the Acura’s tires ended up on the roof of a nearby house, and a trash can was pushed into the street and hit by another car.

Police arrived on the scene and suspected Young, of Mission Viejo, to be driving under the influence of drugs. He was cited for a hit and run and suspicion of a DUI. He also was injured and bleeding from the face. Young was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Fountain Valley and Santa Ana police are still investigating the details surrounding these accidents.
