If you have rental car coverage on your own insurance policy, then your own insurance company will reimburse you for your rental car expense. If the other driver’s insurance company has accepted fault for the accident, they will pay for your rental car while your vehicle is being repaired.
My name is John Burns and I’m a personal injury attorney in South Orange County California. My office is located right where Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano all come together.
- If no insurance company will pay for it, that means if you don’t have rental car coverage on your policy, and the other company won’t pay it because they’re conducting an investigation on who was at fault, then you would have write a check for your rental car during that time.
- At a later date you can include the amount that you paid for the rental car as part of your claim for reimbursement once the case gets resolved at the end of the case, or if during the case settlement you’re still owed that money.
Now if you have a problem like this I handle problems like this for people every day as part of my practice. We’ve got it down on what to do, how to handle it, and we can help resolve that problem for you.
